Fall Boards/ Freshman Kinnus
When: October 23rd - 26th
Where: Southfield, Michigan
The convention that starts the CRUSY year off with a bang, Fall Boards and Freshman Kinnus is a convention for the newest members of USY, our freshmen, and our newest leaders of USY, the members of Chapter Boards across the region. For the new freshmen, the weekend is filled with programs just for them to get them acquainted with CRUSY and each other, as well as giving everyone a taste of everything from home hospitality to amazing CRUSY Ruach. As for the board members, the weekend is filled with leadership training, board meetings for individual positions, and a large group meeting for the “big decisions” such as where the TO (Tikkun Olam aka tzedakah money) will be sent at the end of the year.
If you’re on a chapter board (including general board) or if you’re a freshman of the class of 2018, this is a convention you will not want to miss!

FAUX MITZVAH MADNESS!
HEY CRUSY! B'nai Jeshurun USY would like to invite you to Cleveland for "faux mitzvah". Join us in a blast to the past to relive the wonderful middle school bar/bat mitzvah days! USY members will lead a USY morning service on Saturday, March 1st in the main sanctuary, and then we'll celebrate on Saturday evening with food, entertainment, music, and more. If you plan on coming, please find your own transportation (CARPOOL with other CRUSY people!). If you don't live in the area, we will find housing for you! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask a board member. Specific times and details will be posted soon, and we hope to see you there!

Join BJUSY for a Taste of USY and the Hunger Games! Tributes will compete in exciting games containing all aspects of USY as they fight to win the Games. A bus will leave B'nai Jeshurun around 12:15 and return around 3:30. Lunch will be provided. Bring a white t-shirt to tie-die. This event is open to 6th-12th graders.

BJUSY scavenged through Target on a scavenger hunt to purchase items for Family Promise, an organization which provides transitional housing to families and take pictures. Afterward walked over to Coldstone for Ice Cream!

We raised over $100 for SATO as we voted to watch Toy Story 3. After filling ourselves up with delicious snacks and the movie, we played a great game of Apples to Apples.

What Time: 12:00 P.M. - 3:00 P.M.
Attendees competed in 4 teams through three rounds of mystery basket ingredients in order to be crowned Chopped Champions. Each team of 4 people used Hummus, Pita, Canned Peaches, and Sliced Almonds in the Appetizer Rounds, Falafel Mix, Crackers, Raisins, and Frozen Broccoli in the Entree Round, and Matzo, Mango, Kosher Gummies, and Instant Pie Crust in the Dessert Round, along with Pantry Ingredients to make a dish.
